Interior Design: Geometry Design

This project is simply one of the best examples of when collaboration of professionals works extremely well. Geometry Design previously worked with the Client before and knew them well. So Geometry Design had a very well thought through project when we have been appointed. Once we were appointed, we have commenced with the site investigation, building up the team, and preparing documentation for submitting Listed Building Consent.

The property is located at the top floor of the Grade II Listed Building in a sensitive area, from the planning and Estate Management point of view. The brief was to amalgamate two apartments into one and deliver Interior Design vision put together by Geometry Design.

Some of the main challenges were site access during construction, permissions and work at a distance with Interior Designers. However, the latter has proved to be the most enjoyable and friendly process, resulting in a long professional partnership.

For this project, we have managed the full process, including, liaison with Client and Client’s representative’s, design coordination and implementation, planning, liaison with Grosvenor and managing the project as a Contract Administrator and Lead Consultant. We have produced a set of architectural details, finding best solutions for services integration and introduced some minor but important layout changes that were seen as positive design contribution. We have also managed the project during construction stages and continued to work closely with Geometry Design throughout the project, on the detail design coordination of joinery and finishes.

Although the images capture an effortless elegance and simplicity thanks to the beautiful design by Geometry Design, behind the scenes, the process of coordination and the logistics during the construction process has been complex. Kudos to everyone who was involved in the team to making this project run smooth and on time.

Interior Designers and the Client were delighted with the result and of course Contractor and the Design Team were pleased at the outcome.
